Terms of Service

Effective: 18 July 2026  ·  Last updated: 18 July 2026

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Qafilah Inc. governing your use of the Qafilah mobile app and related services. Please read them carefully. By downloading or using Qafilah, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account, downloading, or using Qafilah, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2Who we are

Qafilah is operated by Qafilah Inc., a Delaware corporation. In these Terms, "Qafilah," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Qafilah Inc.

3Eligibility & age

4Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information, keep it up to date, and tell us promptly of any unauthorised use. You may delete your account at any time (see our Privacy Policy).

5Subscriptions, billing & auto-renewal

Core worship features are free. Qafilah also offers optional paid subscriptions (for example, Plus, Kids, and Family).

6Your licence to use the app

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Qafilah for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.

7Acceptable use

You agree not to:

8Your content

You keep ownership of the content you create in the app (journals, reflections, family and Kids entries, parent-recorded audio, and similar). Most of this stays on your device. You grant us only the limited licence needed to operate features you use (for example, to sync hybrid or family features across your devices). You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the right to use it.

9Religious content — important

Qafilah is a guide, not a mufti. The Islamic content in the app is provided for general educational and informational purposes. While we work with qualified scholars to review content, it is not a fatwa and is not a substitute for a qualified local scholar who knows your specific circumstances.

Muslims follow different schools of thought (madhāhib) and there are legitimate differences of scholarly opinion. For personal religious rulings and important decisions, please consult a qualified scholar. You are responsible for your own religious practice, and Qafilah is not liable for decisions you make based on content in the app.

10AI features

Some features use artificial intelligence to generate responses. AI output is produced by software, can be inaccurate or incomplete, and does not represent a scholarly ruling. Do not rely on AI responses for important religious, medical, legal, or financial decisions — verify with a qualified person. See how we handle AI data in our Privacy Policy.

11No professional advice

Qafilah does not provide medical, mental-health, legal, tax, or financial advice. Wellbeing features (such as Sister Sanctuary and Soul Space) are for general support and are not medical advice or a medical device. Tools such as the zakat calculator are for convenience and are not tax or financial advice. Always consult an appropriate professional for your situation.

12Intellectual property

The app, its design, brand, logos ("Qafilah"), text, graphics, and software are owned by Qafilah Inc. or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Some content and components are provided by third parties under their own licences. You may not use our marks or content without permission, except as allowed by these Terms.

13Third-party services

The app relies on and links to third-party services (such as the Apple App Store, Google Play, our cloud, AI, and donation providers). Your use of those services is governed by their terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them. Charitable donations you make are processed by third-party providers, not by us.

14Disclaimers of warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content (including prayer times, Qibla direction, and religious information) is complete or accurate. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some may not apply to you.

15Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Qafilah Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, goodwill, or profits, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50.

16Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Qafilah Inc. from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the app, your content, or your violation of these Terms or the rights of others.

17Termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if necessary to protect the service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

18Changes to the app & terms

We may update the app and these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes to the Terms, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

19Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before starting any formal dispute, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware, unless applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
